Welcome to the Stanly County Register of Deeds’ website. The purpose of the Register of Deeds office is to act as legal custodian of a vast number of public land records including deeds, deeds of trust, uniform commercial codes (UCCs), powers of attorney, assumed business name forms, plats, satisfactions and numerous other document types as they relate to real property in Stanly County. Our website allows you access to these land records by visiting our land record search page. We provide the information on this site for your use and convenience. You may search, view, download or print these records.

The Stanly County Register of Deeds Office also maintains military discharges and all vital records for the county. These records include births and deaths that occurred within the county and marriage licenses. You may obtain your marriage license through our office and use in any county in North Carolina. We record military discharges for veterans at no charge.

The Register of Deeds office has served Stanly County since the County was formed in 1841 from Montgomery County. It was named for John Stanly of New Bern, North Carolina.
